Dorm Room Essentials List:
Heading back to campus this fall? In addition to a mini-fridge (for snacks) and your favorite posters, back-to-school shopping lists should include items such as linens, storage containers, clothes, and other essentials. Whether this is your first, third, or fifth year of undergrad, you’ll need to check out our complete back-to-school shopping list to help you determine dorm room essentials what you’re missing for the upcoming school year.
Bedding:
First things first; you cannot head off to college without a set of sheets and a warm comforter, but more importantly – you cannot call your bedding set complete without a mattress topper! Dorm beds are notoriously uncomfortable and sleep in college is super important so if there’s anything you should splurge on when dorm shopping, it should definitely be a mattress topper!

Bathroom Essentials:
You’re not going to want to go anywhere without towels, a shower caddy, and some shower shoes! Shower shoes should definitely be on your dorm room essentials list if they aren’t already. Trust us, you don’t want to know what or who has been in the shower ahead of you, and shower shoes will help you avoid any germs that may be waiting for you!
Desk and School Supplies:
Notebooks, pens, and sticky notes should abound when you’re packing for college. Additionally, you should make sure to have a backup charger for your laptop as well as some efficient desk dividers. There is nothing worse than a messy desk when you’re trying to study for mid-terms at 1 am or your charger (and subsequently your computer) dying on you while you’re trying to wrap up your research paper for the semester.

Organizational Items:
Most dorms are quite limited when it comes to space so finding ways to maximize storage (and closet space) in dorms is key. Some of our must-haves include hanging closet organizers, under-the-bed storage containers, and a nightstand with plenty of drawers.
Electronics and Tech:
Computer? Check. Phone? Check. What else do you need for college? To start, we highly recommend an extension cord as dorms have a limited number of outlets. This is especially handy when you have to share those outlets with your roommate! Other dorm room essentials include a fan, a 10ft phone charging cable, and a vacuum. You never know when mom might drop in!

Sound Oasis Bluetooth Sleep Sound Machine BST-80-20:
Some dorm room essentials have walls that are super thin. So, if your next-door neighbor decides to blast music at 1 am, you may be able to hear it. Additionally, you and your roommate may have different schedules and sleep patterns so having a sound machine can be a game-changer for good grades and good sleep!
Our BST-80-20 is a newer addition to our sound machine family and is ideal for home, travel, and life on campus. Another great feature that students will like is that our sound machine can also function as a speaker by day to play or stream music!
