Frequently asked questions
Q: What do the lights in Glo to Sleep™ do?
The gentle lights, called the Points of Glo, give you something calming to focus on or gaze upward at. This helps distract the mind and encourages relaxation as you concentrate on the lights and your breathing rather than daily worries or racing thoughts.
This meditative principle has been naturally practiced for generations by yoga and meditation enthusiasts around the world.
Q: Can you give me examples of people that have used Glo to Sleep mask?
Yes! Please refer to the testimonial section for real customer experiences and feedback.
Here is one comment from movie and TV actor Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters, The Crow, Oz):
“I’m speechless. For the first time in nearly 20 years, I’ve been able to sleep through the night. I occasionally awaken, but only for a brief few minutes compared to my usual 2–3 hours of tossing and turning trying to get back to sleep.”
“What’s even more amazing, I haven’t had to get up to use the bathroom at night. I’ve been telling friends and family, so I expect you’ll be getting e-mails and calls.”
“With all the reports coming out about sleep deprivation, I believe Glo to Sleep is a life saver.”
Q: Do I have to stare up at the Points of Glo to experience the full effect of Glo to Sleep mask?
No. It is best to gaze naturally at the Points of Glo and allow your eyes to move comfortably across the rows of lights. Blinking is completely normal.
The simple act of looking upward at the Points of Glo helps encourage relaxation and is a commonly practiced element of meditation techniques.
Q: My eyes tend to be sensitive, and I’m concerned that the lights might hurt my eyes or be too bright.
Glo to Sleep’s Points of Glo are designed to emit only soft, melatonin friendly light. They are not bright enough to keep you awake and only release the light they absorb from daylight or a light source.
The brightness naturally fades over several minutes.
Q: Can Glo to Sleep’s Points of Glo interfere with my sleep?
Glo to Sleep blocks out external light that can harm your natural melatonin cycles and adds melatonin friendly light therapy to help you relax and fall asleep. Since the light emitted from Glo to Sleep is so dim, it has no negative effect on your melatonin levels.
The following chart compares lab tested brightness levels for Glo to Sleep to typical light emitting objects at home and in nature. The chart then correlates the brightness of these sources with research undertaken to determine at what levels of brightness melatonin starts to become negatively impacted. As shown, Glo to Sleep’s light emission is so low that it is below the measureable starting point in the research.
Q: If I awaken during the night, do I have to recharge the Glo to Sleep mask?
No. The photoluminescent bars gradually lose most of their brightness over several minutes, but a dim glow may remain visible for hours and can still be enough to focus on if needed.
Q: Can I adjust the Glo to Sleep mask to properly fit my face?
Yes. Glo to Sleep therapy mask includes an adjustable Velcro® strap and supersoft hypoallergenic foam that helps provide a comfortable fit while blocking unwanted external light.
